Members of a Neighbourhood Watch team in Stoughton were out on Tuesday afternoon (June 12) on another of their regular rounds picking up litter.
The team not only conduct speed watch monitoring at the bottom of Northway near its junction with Aldershot Road, but on other occasions don their hi-vis vests and fill plastic sacks with litter.
One of the members, Brian Holt, said: “We usually go out about once a week and pick up litter. We cover the length of Northway, including the grass area opposite the Royal British Legion, and we also go along Fentum Road.
They say that ideally they would like to see some kind of traffic calming along Northway, in particular speed humps, and perhaps a pedestrian crossing.

What a fantastic sense of community spirit in Northway – keep up the great work. How can people contact the team if they wish to help?

People can contact me if they’d like to help with our litter picks. It would be lovely to have more help, then maybe we could litter pick a larger area!
